Rick "Party Animal" Gomez | 1959-2012
Rick started playing in the mid 1980s, and continued playing till the end. He
passed away doing what he liked best. Playing darts, drinking beer and being
around friends. He most recently played on " Drunken Darts and Just Kiddin".
He will be missed by family and friends. Survived by sister Rita, brother Roy
and their families and Frank and Sandie Gomez
February 3, 2012 we lost another long time dart player: Phillip Brumley has been
a member of the DDA since the mid 70's, and played on Ugly Mean and Nasty, Next
Door Sanchos, and Who Cares to name a few.
July 19, 1965 - December 23, 2011
Mike Petronico was a good friend and team mate. Mike Sr. played on Bangin' Neighbors (A2) and Foxes and Hounds (Mixed) his last season.
His passing December 23, 2011 was a shock to all who knew him and he will be missed. he is survived by his three children, and three grandchildren.

Jim Keil passed away November 18, 2010. Jim held several positions in the DDA. He was a nightly director and also President. Jim grew up in Gainesville, Tx. and graduated from North Texas State University in 1964. He was 68 yr. old at time of death, was employed for the last 15 yr. at Kinko's (now FedEx Office). At the time of his death he had been living in Forney, Tx. with his wife of 45 yrs. Mary. He had two daughters, Melanie Bess & Susan Davis, four grandchildren.
Ray Loos | April 23, 1958 - October 21, 2011
It is with great saddness we inform you that Ray Loos, long time (25year) member of Cheap Shot and most recently of the Wanderers, passed away on October 21, 2011. He was a wonderful friend and teammate and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Susan, and two sons, Nick and Alex.
Dewey Tarkington, DDA# 3437, was a member of the
DDA since 1978 and played on only 2 teams.
He started on Doo Dahs, one of the first teams in
the DDA. He captained that team through the 90's
until it folded in 1999, He began playing for Who Cares
about 2004 and played until he passed on February 7,
2009. Dewey passed away from an instantaneous massive
heat attack. Survived by his wife Sarah and 2
daughters, Dewey was a great friend, and will be
Long-time DDA player and former nightly director and
board member, Bill Hargis, passed away on January 5,
2010. Bill had been in the hospital for some time.

William Howard "Bill" Hargis, 58, of Carrollton, Texas,
died January 5, 2010 at the Baylor Medical Center of
Carrollton in Carrollton, Texas.
He was born June 20, 1951 at Fayetteville, Arkansas,
the son of Earl Howard and Sarah Elizabeth Sandford
Hargis. He was the owner of a financial service firm
and a Presbyterian. He was a member of the Sons of the
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, William
Scott and Rachel Hargis of Austin, Texas and one
brother and sister-in-law, Tom Earl and Sharon Hargis
of Fairfax, Virginia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday,
January 8, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with

interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery under the

The DDA has been informed that long time dart thrower,
piano player, and friend, Jerry Yule, passed away on
July 13, 2007 of natural causes. More information about

a good friend and long-time dart player; Ricky
Ricky passed on June 12, 2007 after a long battle with
cancer. Visitation was on Friday the 15th, from 6:30pm
to 8:00pm with service at 4:00pm on Saturday, the 16th,
at the Memorial Chapel at Restland (Walnut Street
between TI Blvd & Greenville Avenue.
Ricky will be missed by all who knew him.

Administrator, and all-around great dart player and
good friend, passed away September 4, 2006. Ray will be
sorely missed, and remembered, by all who knew him. Ray
scheduled league play and ran the day to day business
of the league for the past decade. His dedication to
the sport, and good nature, will be remembered.
Mike Munoz, known to just about
everyone whoever went to Sharky's as
"Pops" passed away while watching tv
on his couch covered peacefully with a blanket. Pops
was an icon for many of the dart players in this area
and will be missed ,but not forgotten. Veiwing &
Rosary services are being held Thursday and Friday at
Restland Funderal home. Thurs 2/16/06- 4pm to 8pm,
Friday 2/17/06- 1pm to 4pm with the Rosary Service
being held at 7pm. Mass will be held on Saturday at
1:30pm at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Wylie. 404

January 20th, 2006. She was a long time member of our
league. She was well known througout the league for
bringing new players into the fold. Our thoughts and
prayers go out to her family and many freinds.
Visitation will be Tuesday 1/24 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at
Wildwood Chapel at Restland. Funeral will be Wednesday
1/25 10am at Restland.
Long time DDA member Danny Martinelli
passed away Wednesday 3/02/05. Danny was a member of
the Tuesday A-1 team Close Enuff. He will be greatly
missed, but not forgotten. All our thoughts and prayers
are with the Martinelli family and friends. Services

Ray (R.B.) Bridgewater
Ray (R.B.) Bridgewater passed away on
Monday, August 23, 2004. RB had played darts most
recently out of Sharky's on Greenville Avenue, but had
been fighting various health problems for some time.
The funeral will be at 12:30 on Thursday, August 27, at
the Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park,

The Martinelli family wants to let the DDA know that
Terry Martinelli died unexpectantly on
May 9, 2004. Terry has been a DDA member for many
years, most recently with the "Cunning Linguists" and
"Close Enough". Terry was a gentle giant with a quick
smile and a dry wit and will be greatly missed.
John "Big John" Knowles
John "Big John" Knowles passed away on
Thursday night, December 18, 2003, from liver
Big John will be missed by all that knew him.
Jay Amato and Rick
Mike Pistorius, captain of Loaded Shooters (Jerami's)
notified the DDA of the death of two of the long time
players on the team Loaded Shooters.
Jay Amato had played with us for 20 years at his death
in March of 2001.
Rick Kortie had also played many years for the Loaded
Shooters at his death in March of 2003.
The Loaded Shooters (and the DDA) had the honor of
having these two great guys play with us all those
years, and they will be greatly missed.
Tim Smeltzer (former DDA player) informed us that his
wife, Jayne Seymour (another former
DDA player) passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2003.

The DDA was informed on April 25, 2002 that long time
friend and dart player, Ray Carter,
has passed away. Ray was most recently a member of
"Wanderers", playing out of Kelly's in the Wednesday A1
division. Services were held at the Wylie cemetary at
3:00pm on Monday, April 29, 2002.
The Martinelli family would like to let the rest of the
DDA know that the brother of Danny and Terry Martinell
, John Martinelli passed away on the
morning of March 31, 2002. John was a member of the DDA
for many years; most recently on the A-1 Championship
team "Close Enuff" the last time he played in 1999
before health problems forced him to quit darts.
Johnny was well liked and always had a smile on his
face. It was hard for him to be out of darts so we put
his darts in the coffin with him. The family will try
to have a memorial tournament in the near future to
help Jackie buy a head stone for his grave. They will
